In No One Cares That You Tele
A phenomenon I’ve started to to notice at disturbingly increasing rates it’s the cliched tele pose for photo ops. You know what I’m talking about... the knees flexed, one foot back, poles ever so attentively placed as if the subject was getting ready to turn left into the granola store to stock up on their supply of gorp... when you buy tele gear, is there an online learning module you must complete that strictly enforced such things? Is it a sudden boost of gravity that is attracted to your inflated sense of self importance? I imagine a Telemark Revised Statute 12.0-5B reads; “Thou shall at all times be ready to activate tele pose when any camera, phone, fax, or mimeograph machine is within 127 ft.” I can’t help but gleam the comparison to the teenage girl duck lips selfie, or the ever so concerning bent knee, hands on thigh, low ceiling selfie. Help! I want to understand all cultures, even those that are silly and don’t make sense!
